Pediatrics & Neonatology

Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that deals with the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. Pediatricians are medical doctors who specialize in the care of children from birth to young adulthood. They work to prevent, diagnose, and treat a wide range of health conditions that can affect children.

Neonatology is a subspecialty of pediatrics that focuses on the medical care of newborns, especially premature or sick newborns. Neonatologists are pediatricians who have completed additional training in the care of newborns and are skilled in managing the unique needs of this patient population. They work in neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) and provide specialized care to premature or sick newborns.

Both pediatrics and neonatology involve providing comprehensive care to children and newborns, including preventive care, diagnosis and treatment of illness, and ongoing management of chronic conditions. They also involve working closely with families to ensure that children receive the best possible care and support for their physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
