Cardiac Care Unit

A cardiac care unit (CCU) is a specialized hospital unit that provides intensive care for patients with heart conditions. CCUs are also sometimes called coronary care units (CCUs) or intensive care units (ICUs). These units are staffed with healthcare professionals who are specially trained in the care of patients with heart conditions.

Patients in a CCU may be receiving treatment for a wide range of heart conditions, including heart attacks, heart failure, abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias), and other cardiac emergencies. The goal of care in a CCU is to stabilize the patient's condition and prevent further complications. This may involve medications, procedures such as angioplasty or stenting, and monitoring of the patient's heart function using specialized equipment.

If you have a heart condition that requires intensive care, it is important to receive care from a team of healthcare professionals who are experienced in managing these conditions. They can work with you to develop a treatment plan that is tailored to your specific needs and help you achieve the best possible outcome.
