Know out More about us

Priti Hospital is one of the most historical hospitals of Prayagraj. Late Dr. Priti Gupta achieved a prominent place by giving Prayagraj as the first super multi-specialty hospital, Priti Hospital, to provide special and highly specialized services to the patients in the nearby districts of Prayagraj and Uttar Pradesh. Not only this, due to its better services, Priti Hospital in Prayagraj has created a proud history in Prayagraj by performing many major surgeries first in the field of medicine:-

First 'Hip' and 'Knee' Replacement In Prayagraj

Hip and knee replacements are surgical procedures that involve replacing a damaged or diseased joint with an artificial joint, or prosthesis. These procedures can be performed to eliminate pain and improve mobility in people with conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and other conditions that cause joint damage.

The first hip replacement surgery was performed in the early 20th century, and the first knee replacement surgery was performed 1995s in Prayagraj Performed by Prof. S C Gaur & his team at Priti Hospital. These procedures have significantly evolved over the years, and today they are considered to be highly effective treatments for joint pain and disability.

The surgical technique used for hip and knee replacements has been refined over time, and the materials used in the prostheses have improved as well. Modern hip and knee replacements are designed to be long-lasting and provide good function and mobility. However, like any surgical procedure, hip and knee replacements carry risks and complications, and the decision to undergo these procedures should be made after careful consideration and consultation with a healthcare provider.

First Pacemaker Implant Started In Prayagraj

First dedicated cardiac care unit was started under the able guidance of Dr Rajeev Agarwal. First Pacemaker Implant was started under the guidance of Dr D K Agarwal.

The first pacemaker implant was performed 1996 by Dr. D K Agarwal at the Priti Hospital, Prayagraj. The first patient, reported was Mr Arne Larsson, a 43-year-old man who had suffered from cardiac arrhythmias (irregular heart rhythms) for many years. Larsson received a total of 26 pacemaker implants over the course of his lifetime and lived to be 86 years old.

Pacemakers are small devices that are implanted in the chest to help regulate the heartbeat. They use electrical signals to stimulate the heart muscle and help it beat at a normal rate. Pacemakers are used to treat a variety of heart conditions, including bradycardia (a slow heart rate) and tachycardia (a fast heart rate). They are typically used in people who have heart rhythm problems that cannot be controlled with medication or other treatments.

Prayagraj First Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy

The first total laparoscopic hysterectomy (TLH) was performed in 1997 by Dr. Bhumsi J Wadia and his team at the Priti Hospital, Prayagraj. TLH is a surgical procedure in which the uterus is removed through small incisions in the abdomen, using laparoscopic instruments and a laparoscope (a thin, flexible tube with a camera on the end).

TLH has several advantages over traditional open surgery for hysterectomy, including less pain, a shorter hospital stay, and a faster recovery time. It is also associated with fewer complications and a lower risk of infection. TLH is now a common and widely accepted procedure for the treatment of various gynecological conditions, such as uterine fibroids, endometriosis, and uterine cancer.

First Dialysis Unit In Prayagraj

The first dialysis unit was established in 1997 at Priti Hospital, Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. The unit was led by Dr. Priti Gupta, who is considered to be the Mother of dialysis in Prayagraj.

Dialysis is a medical treatment that is used to remove excess waste and fluid from the body when the kidneys are no longer able to function properly. It is typically used in people with kidney failure, a condition in which the kidneys are unable to filter waste and excess fluid from the blood. There are two main types of dialysis: hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis. Hemodialysis involves removing blood from the body, filtering it through a machine, and returning it to the body, while peritoneal dialysis involves using the lining of the abdomen (the peritoneum) to filter the blood.

First dialysis unit was a primitive machine that used a drum filled with cellulose fibers to filter the blood. The machine was used to treat patients with acute kidney failure, but it was not practical for long-term use. Today, dialysis is a widely accepted and effective treatment for kidney failure, and there are many different types of dialysis machines and techniques available.

First Ventilator Equipped High Dependency Unit In Prayagraj

The first ventilator-equipped high dependency unit (HDU) was likely established in the 1998s at Priti Hospital, Prayagraj, as this was around the time that mechanical ventilation (the use of a machine to assist or control breathing) became more widely available and commonly used in Prayagraj.

HDUs are specialized units within hospitals that provide intermediate levels of care between intensive care units (ICUs) and general ward units. They are typically used to care for patients who require close monitoring and support, but who do not require the same level of intense care as those in ICUs. HDUs are equipped with advanced monitoring and support equipment, such as ventilators, to help patients with respiratory problems or other serious conditions.

Ventilators are machines that are used to help people breathe when they are unable to do so on their own. They are commonly used in HDUs, ICUs, and other specialized units in hospitals to treat patients with respiratory failure or other serious respiratory conditions. Ventilators work by delivering a set of pressurized breaths to the patient through a tube that is inserted into the trachea (windpipe). The machine can be adjusted to deliver different types of breaths, depending on the patient's needs.

First Orthopaedic & Opthalmology Unit In Prayagraj
First Orthopaedic Unit with Modular unit, Arthoscopy (Stryker) was started under the Ableton guidance of Prof S C Gaur. He was the pioneers of Many orthopaedic procedures in whole of Uttar Pradesh. It is difficult to determine the first orthopedic unit, as the history of these medical specialties dates back centuries, but modern orthopaedic techniques was first introduced by Dr Gaur in Prayagraj. Orthopedics is the medical specialty that focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of conditions and injuries that affect the musculoskeletal system, which includes the bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, and muscles. Orthopedic care may involve surgical and nonsurgical treatments, such as medications, physical therapy, and bracing.
First ophthalmology unit was started under the guidance of Dr R N Mishra & Dr Mukesh Khare with 2 Zeiss Microscope, Pheco unit , OCT. Yag laser, vitrectomy unit. Ophthalmology is the medical specialty that deals with the anatomy, physiology, and diseases of the eye. Ophthalmologists are medical doctors who are trained to diagnose and treat a wide range of eye conditions, including cataracts, glaucoma, and age-related macular degeneration. Ophthalmologists may also perform surgical procedures to treat certain eye conditions, such as cataract surgery or laser eye surgery.
Ophthalmology unit is specialized areas within hospitals or clinics that are dedicated to the care of patients with eye conditions. These units may have specialized equipment and staff trained in the diagnosis and treatment of these conditions. It is likely that the first modern ophthalmology units were established sometime in the 20th century, as the development of this medical specialtie and the availability of specialized equipment and treatments increased during this time.
Prayagraj First Laparoscopic Surgery
The first laparoscopic surgery was performed in the late 1980s by Dr. Avinash Mittal and Dr Rajeev Singh and his team at the Priti Hospital , Prayagraj. Laparoscopic surgery, also known as minimally invasive surgery, is a surgical technique that involves making small incisions in the abdomen and using laparoscopic instruments and a laparoscope (a thin, flexible tube with a camera on the end) to perform the procedure.
Laparoscopic surgery has several advantages over traditional open surgery, including less pain, a shorter hospital stay, and a faster recovery time. It is also associated with fewer complications and a lower risk of infection. Laparoscopic surgery is now used to treat a wide range of conditions, including appendicitis, gallbladder disease, and certain types of cancer.
First laparoscopic surgery was a cholecystectomy (removal of the gallbladder), which was performed in 1998. The procedure was successful and paved the way for the widespread adoption of laparoscopic surgery in many different medical specialties.
First Micro Vascular Surgery Unit In Prayagraj

First Microvascular surgery unit was started under the guidance of Dr D C Srivastava. Unit was equipped with Specialized Microscope & loops from Zeiss, micro drills & instruments. He is instrumental in performing successfully, first re implantation of severed hand.  It is difficult to determine the first microvascular surgery unit, as microvascular surgery is a relatively new specialty within the field of surgery. Microvascular surgery involves the use of specialized instruments and techniques to repair and reconstruct small blood vessels and nerves, typically using a microscope or other magnification device. Microvascular surgery is often used to repair damaged or diseased blood vessels in the face, hands, and feet, and it is also used in reconstructive surgery, such as breast reconstruction after mastectomy.

Microvascular surgery units are specialized areas within hospitals or clinics that are dedicated to the care of patients who require microvascular surgery. These units may have specialized equipment, such as microscopes and microsurgical instruments, and staff who are trained in the use of these tools and techniques. It is likely that the first microvascular surgery unit was established sometime in the late 20th century or early 21st century, as the development of microvascular surgery and the availability of specialized equipment and techniques increased during this time.
